A photoshop challenge

Rockingham Motor Speedway is Europe’s fastest banked oval racing circuit, with the unbeaten lap record for the 1.5 mile oval set at an average speed of 215mph. This premier venue produces a vast array of marketing collateral each year and this does mean that on occasions its in-house team struggles to cope with demand.
Michael Galjaardt from Rockingham contacted Pixooma to see if we could help them with an urgent project whilst the marketing team were busy with other projects – and it turned out to be a fantastic Photoshop challenge!
You can have any colour, as long as it is white…
Rockingham wanted to promote its 'Rockingham Experience' days which allow companies to partake in corporate driving days and drive a wide range of vehicles. The issue was that they wanted to present the full range of branded vehicles, but at that stage the car liveries were not complete so could not be photographed. The cars all needed to be white and have the livery added in photoshop which was challenging because two of the cars were red and one was black.
The design of the brochure needed to fit within the strong brand identity that Rockingham had created, so we needed to become fluent in the graphic approach as quickly as possible because the timescale was tight.
Pixooma stepped in to provide design support for Rockingham and became an invaluable member of the team for the six months they worked closely with us. Challenge accepted!
We were able to create a fresh new brochure that fitted well with their other marketing materials – and through our skills and experience with Photoshop – represent a fleet of vehicles that didn't exist yet. As the job was substantial we took the photoshop work in stages to ensure that each part of the approach was signed-off before proceeding further, thereby ensuring the client was happy at every stage. Once this was complete the overall concept was broadly approved from the first visual so all that was left was specific amends and layout tweaks.
