Cheyne Walk Club
Northampton’s historic Cheyne Walk Club was formed in 1929 and was initially used exclusively by Chamber of Commerce members. Since then its membership has expanded and it’s now a private members club which anyone is eligible to join.
An outdated image
The club’s committee were worried that the clubs potential to attract new and younger members was hampered by the very traditional design of its current logo, which long term would lead to a decline in membership and revenues. Pixooma was asked to help design a new logo that would successfully:
- appeal to a new audience of younger members
- be attractive to both men and women
- retain a sense of gravitas and authority
- make reference to the club’s heritage
- work well in the wide range of media and channels that modern marketing requires
A modern club with a proud history
The new logo makes reference to the history of the club by using part of its elegant architecture – the beautiful Victorian portico, but with a clean and bold modern style that will make it much more versatile than the existing logo. It retains the single-colour approach of the old logo which gives it real gravitas and ensures the club’s brand is maintained over a wide variety of media. The club’s committee were presented a number of options to consider and were so happy with Pixooma’s proposals they only needed one round of amends to select and refine their chosen design.
