How’s your

self-management?

[wpseo_breadcrumb]

Running your own business is good, but like anything in life, there are elements of it that you might not enjoy or areas which can overwhelm you. That’s why when we established Pixooma we were keen to look at ways to improve and streamline our day-to-day activities, as well as help us to keep track of projects.

In addition, we wanted to automate some of our core business processes and free up time so we can pursue more productive areas of our business. Finally, we wanted to relieve some stress and save money too.

Since 2014, we have tried lots of different business apps and tools to help us maintain efficiencies. There are four that we regularly use, and which continue to demonstrate added value.

CRM

Capsule manages our contacts, sales, tasks and projects with ease in one place, enabling us to nurture and build stronger customer relationships. In addition, it also seamlessly integrates with other applications that we use including Mailchimp and Xero.

Client projects

TeamGantt plans, schedules, and manages our client projects easily as it keeps all our tasks, documents and conversations in a centralised hub. This means in an instant we can keep abreast of the progress of every project thanks to the highly visual Gantt chart system.

Calendar

Google Calendar allows us to spend less time managing our schedules and more time enjoying them, especially when it comes to Zoom meetings and networking. We (Jo and I) share our calendars, so we know who is doing what and when. This means we avoid overlaps and when it comes to using the car – admittedly less of an issue in lockdown – we can play nicely and take turns!

121’s

Calendly helps us to stop booking conflicting 121’s, meetings and events as it makes the process of finding convenient meeting times easy. Essentially it eliminates the time taken in toing and froing when setting up any kind of appointment.

If you have used other apps and tools which might work better than the ones we have highlighted above, please get in touch and tell us about them. We're always interested in finding out about other options, which might give us a better business edge in the future.

If you like these tools and apps we can send future ones straight to your inbox…
