What’s the best frequency
for a magazine?
[wpseo_breadcrumb]
Magazines tend to appear on a regular scheduled basis. Monthly and quarterly issues are the most common. Occasionally you might see a weekly, every two weeks or six months or an annual publication.
When deciding on frequency, you need to work out what is achievable with regards to time, budget, staff/outsourced resources, accessibility to topical/engaging content and whether or not you can get sufficient advertisers to participate on an ongoing basis.
Essentially, whatever you decide has to be manageable and appeal to your target audience. Too frequently and you might run out of things to say and/or inundate your audience with an information overload, too infrequently and people might forget who you are and what you do.
Whatever you decide on, you need to keep to that schedule - producing two monthly issues and then having a six month gap before the next one will just look unprofessional and lose the interest of your audience.
